We’ve got a bevy of beauties to gaze at if you can get up early enough. Just before day break, Mercury, Venus, Saturn, Mars and Jupiter are visible. This stellar line up opens the days for us until mid-February, heralding in the light that will guide us.

The week opens up with a new moon in Aquarius on Monday, February 8th at 6:39 AM. It’s the first new moon of 2016 with no Mercury retrograde to impede our movements. Besides a significant square from Mars, one that stays hot on the heels of the sun for a few days, the new moon is sitting in a situation that grants it a sextile from Saturn on one side and from Uranus on the other. This is an innovative opening to the lunar cycle if we can face the demands and the daunting tasks that a square from Mars in Scorpio often offers up (namely, dealing with a little conflict and the inner commotion it causes us). Mars tests our courage and our ability to curb our hostility. Battling our inner demons makes the outer ones far less formidable.

The day after the new moon Venus in Capricorn lines up to gain gifts and good graces from Jupiter in Virgo. These are earthly offerings which means that the inspiration and help is only as good as we can put it to use. Since so much intense astrology occurred in Capricorn over the past month, this little love note feels like a well-earned make up session. Both Venus and Jupiter bring acceptance, inclusivity and add an easy-going flavor to whatever they touch. This week may help to bring us together, to listen to one another and to heal some of the lingering and unhealed hurts.

Mercury enters the clarity seeking sign of Aquarius on Saturday. Ideas can come into forms that feel workable. By February 14th Mercury will once again be free to move forward as it will no longer be retracing its former retrograde degrees. This is good news for all the new moon plans we are working on.

Mars in Scorpio will sextile Jupiter in Virgo over the weekend. With Jupiter helping out both Venus and Mars (the cosmic lovers) this week, one might say that love is in the air. Or at least love is given a chance.

The skies stay almost placid for the rest of the month helping us to make the most of this moment. The next new moon, a month from now, is an all-kinds-of hot-mess eclipse. Enjoy the simplicity while it lasts.

Aries & Aries Rising

This week brings you a big, potentially profitable, lift to your work. This week brings a relationship, a helping hand or some assistance that you’ve needed but not been able to ask for. This week smooths over the commotion, the upheaval or the rough and tumble that you have experienced in your career or work life.

Be ready for the boost in whatever ways you can.

Monday’s new moon stimulates, initiates and helps to innovate friendships, group projects and social situations. Try to remember that we don’t know the kind of potential that gets ignited when we come together with kindred souls. Try to remember that offering the best of what we’ve got with the folks we’ve got by our sides is an honor. Try to put yourself in situations where the ones that you are with are lifting your consciousness, raising the intellectual bar and inspiring you to remember the root reason why we are all here, which is to love and support one another.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

Before we can know what it is we are meant to do, before we declare to the world our path, our purpose and our mission, we have to first be willing to take a good hard look at what will undoubtedly come with it.

The craft has to be enough. The pursuit has to propel us out bed in the morning. Our relationship to what we are passionate about has to be the nourishment that keeps us going.

We cannot hang our self-esteem on future success. Success is never promised us. Dreams don’t work that way. Besides, we often think success is something that needs to occur within our timeline, within our lifetime. But so often our lives are used for something far beyond our lifespan. Cancer & Cancer Rising

The loud and impossible to ignore call that you received recently was trying to help you to experience a greater vulnerability in your relationships.

Virgo & Virgo Rising

There is nothing like the clarity that can come after a state of emergency has past. The weeks of January lead you through winding roadshows of past loves, past pains and past fears of your capacity to attract the life and love that you want. This week helps to bring some healing to those areas. Some luck to your love life. Some inspiration to your workshop.

Show these moments, these people, these creations that you care for them. Let yourself be known through honestly expressing yourself. Refuse to let yourself be caught in concepts that sterilize the mind. Love is messy. Love is mind-altering. Love is liberating.

Liberation leaves us free to find ourselves and responsible for the role that freedom hands us. We can squander the gifts of liberation on self-centered creations. We can lose ourselves in the needs of others. We can find a balance in all we do by remembering our inner journey every time we take a step forward.

Initiate the changes in your daily habits that will help you serve your Maker and make the most of auspicious events that occur throughout your days and weeks. Libra & Libra Rising

Each one of us is nothing short of a master artist of our own lives. Yet many of us feel that we are not creative, that we have no right to consider ourselves so. We put creativity in museums. We hang creativity on a wall. We consume creativity. We critique creativity. We put creativity on a stage, on a pedestal, on another level. Rarely do we reclaim, reorient and reorganize our way of thinking about what we do each and everyday.

Look for the support. It’s there. Listen for the conversations. Notice those that are wanting to conspire, connect and even offer a sincere critique that can help you. Assistance sometimes comes wrapped in what we find, at first, off-putting. Don’t be too big for your britches or your b*tches.

You’ve always got an air of intensity but right now you’ve got all kinds of outrageous energy coming at you and coming from you. Handle it. Do what you need to do to take care of yourself. Sleep, eat, therapy, exercise and channel the bouts of ferocious fantastic that are coming through you.

Monday’s new moon sets off your 4th house of down and dirty roots that won’t let you wander too far off. There may be something around your past that you need to make peace with. There might be some kind of threshold your kin couldn’t cross but that you need to. There might be some healing that can happen when you turn to issues about your home, your family and your current foundation with a willingness to consider what is best for all involved in the long haul. What do you need in order to make your base a place that you want to come home to? What part of your home life do you need to innovate in order to feel comfortable, considered and considerate? What needs to be reset, renovated or rearranged in order to feel like you’ve got room to circulate in your inner space?

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

Do not underestimate what you’ve been working on just because it’s being done behind the scenes. Never let attention from the outside world be the determining factor of whether or not your brilliance is. It is. Never doubt what you do if that thing that you do springs forth from the center of your soul. Never doubt the dance you do to your anthem song. It’s your rhythm to relate to. There is a thing that each of us does that only we can do, and to deny it is to deny ourselves our life. Give yourself this gift.

This week it’s more than likely that there will be help that comes to you from sources you either had no idea about or ones that recognize your internal grit and gifts.

Celebrate this new moon by reaching out to those that might be interested in the things that you are developing. Send out your e-mails, your notes, your letters and your hellos and how you doings. There is much support brewing in the skies for these sentiments over the next few weeks. Since this new moon will travel to your 10th house of career and reputation when it is full (February 22nd), it means that the efforts you put in now end up effecting what you are trying to get done out in the world. The more you love the thing that you are creating, the more that thing will shine as it is revealed for all to see. No effort will go unnoticed.

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising

After weeks of boiling away the extraneous, the superfluous and especially the superficial, this week brings you a well-deserved helping of what might feel like happy. Not a universally applicable term however, happy is a unique state of being for each of us. Happy has unique qualities for each of us. It thrives in unique conditions for each of us.

But whatever the conditions, and whatever their effect, this happiness, this ease and this sheer quality of abundance in your life and your interactions will be evident. Spread it around.
