We have an opportunity for a Director of Engineering to join our team at Chani Nicholas Incorporated to help sustain and build our next chapter.
Chani Nicholas Incorporated was founded by Chani Nicholas, a Los Angeles-based, Webby award-winning, NY Times-bestselling author and astrologer.
We are a queer, feminist-led tech and media company on a mission to make astrology, and its wisdom, accessible to everyone as a tool for self-discovery, mindfulness, and healing.
You are an entrepreneurial technology leader who thinks from both a business and a technical perspective about web/app development. You work independently and are looking for the opportunity to innovate without red tape, bureaucracy, or “brogrammer” culture.
You are a dedicated software craftsperson and product lead who cares deeply about best practices and what it takes to write and maintain great code. You have high emotional intelligence, an abundance mindset, say “yes, and” rather than “no, that’s too hard,” strong interpersonal skills, and care about building a great team.
As a first technical employee on a cross-functional team, you will develop new platforms for Chani Nicholas Incorporated to engage with our audience and community, tell stories, and democratize access to astrological information.
You do not have to be an astrologer or familiar with astrology right now to apply - but you should be willing & able to learn the language of astrology so that your engineering reflects astrology’s logic.
