The Job
You eschew the “brogrammer” culture in favor of a forward-thinking and collaborative environment where technology is there to serve the needs of your users. You are a team player who can also work independently without a lot of direction, effectively taking requests from marketing, design, and other leadership and turning them into functional and beautiful production ready app features.
You are a dedicated software craftsperson and product lead who cares deeply about best practices and what it takes to write and maintain great code and push forward with innovative concepts. You have high emotional intelligence, an abundance mindset, able to effectively balance the needs of the creative and technical.
You will develop and be responsible for building and updating Android compatible applications and systems, finding and squashing bugs, and maintaining a clean and elegant codebase. We are open to using cross platform technologies for our Android buildout, however, you must be able to work with any necessary native integrations and lead the development of making the app available to Android users.
You do not have to be an astrologer or familiar with astrology right now to apply - but you should be willing & able to learn the language of astrology so that your engineering reflects astrology’s logic.
Technical Skills Required
3 – 5+ in mobile app development with strong Android experience (Java/Kotlin) and SDKs
Fluency with Android tool ecosystem for development, testing, debugging, and performance benchmarking (Android Studio/Visual Studio, Material Design and/or any other related IDEs or local development tools)
Extensive hands-on experience creating custom UI controls, consuming RESTful APIs, designing protocols, animations, and performance optimization
A disciplined approach to development, testing, documentation and code structure in a team environment
An excellent understanding of best practices for concurrency and threading
A drive to learn and master new technologies and techniques
Strong understanding of data structures & algorithms
Strong written and verbal communication skills

The Job
We are seeking a talented, creative and well-versed traditional astrologer and experienced writer with proven success in creating innovative and engaging content, honing a brand’s voice, and developing/editing regular astrological content. The Astrology Writer will support the company through writing content for current transits as well as natal chart interpretations, devising interesting and educational threads for social media, and copy-editing content for the CHANI App and newsletters.
As a member of the content team, you will work closely with the Director of Content, the Social Media and Digital Content Manager, designers, editors, and the President to create content that encourages our readers’ self-acceptance, healing, and growth.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer who is comfortable completing creative projects promptly and moving seamlessly onto new assignments. You understand how to marry the traditions of astrology with inclusive, intersectional feminist thinking, issues of equity, social justice, and trauma-informed language. You possess a deep understanding of traditional astrology and can distill complex ideas into fresh, fun, creative, and compelling content.
What You’ll Do
- Write and edit pithy, informational content for the current astrological transits;
- Write and edit astrologically accurate, engaging, and educational threads for social media;
- Write and edit natal chart interpretations; and
- Assist in copyediting needs for weekly and permanent content.
Who We’re Looking For
- 4+ years of professional experience operating in written content creation, and/or study in journalism, publishing, or media;
- 3+ years of studying traditional astrology;
- Strong writing and editing skills, with good storytelling instincts;
- Experience in breaking down large content into different formats, such as social media, newsletters, website content etc.
- Excellent communication and listening skills;
- Ability to explain complex information in a way that anyone can understand;
- Ability to maintain brand voice;
- A proactive, highly organized, self-motivated work ethic, with a willingness to learn;

The Job
We are seeking an analytical, talented, and creative individual with proven success in leading design processes to create the ideal user experience.
As a UX Designer, you will collaborate with engineers, researchers and other designers. Together you will optimize product experiences that drive revenue and improve retention. You will be responsible for the development of innovative customer experiences across a wide variety of channels and devices. You will collaboratively work cross-functionally with the CEO, Director of Customer Experience, engineers, and designers to systematize design operations.
The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for elegant, modern design, and UI patterns. You are at ease both visualizing an experience in the abstract and then driving that vision into concise design deliverables and hands-on building with engineering teams. You possess design thinking skills, with an eye for innovation and a look to the future, as well as an ability to create empathetic, user-focused product designs. You excel at building strong cross-functional relationships and are able to think about design from a tactical and strategic point of view.
What You’ll Do
- Lead the design process from sprint planning to quality assurance (QA) testing across the organization;
- Contributing to CHANI’s web and mobile design system;
- Deliver production-ready specs and follow the work through implementation, release, and post-release to measure success and learn with your cross-functional team;
- Collaborate with project team including other designers, engineers, product owners, product managers and others to design and review user flows, wireframes, and define product experience; and
- Participate in user research activities and incorporate findings into UXD deliverables.
Who We’re Looking For
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in UX design, user research, or related fields;
- Experience working for a technology company with a mobile app;
- A solid understanding and demonstration of user-centered design principles, processes, and methods, especially as applied to enterprise web and mobile applications;
