Lately, like most folks, I wake up in a state of confusion. My half conscious state tries to reckon with what I have read, talked about, and heard from friends and loved ones the day before.
Did that really happen? Yes.
What do I do now? Get up and work.
Heartbroken, we must still seek progress.
Scorpio season isn’t a gentle one. It tends to reveal our fears. And the resilience we need to confront them.
On Monday, however, we get to enter into a new kind of light. The sun enters Sagittarius, the sign of the seeker. Sagittarius wants adventure. Brings an abundance of spirit. Brings with it a faith and trust in life. The sun entering this sign won’t save us from the difficulty of the moment, but it might help us to rally our reasons to believe that we can find a way forward. Find a way through this. Find reasons to keep our faith alive.
Mercury wants to encourage this sentiment. Currently in Sagittarius, Mercury will make a helpful sextile to Jupiter in Libra on Tuesday, encouraging us to strategize and plan for our success, no matter how far off that might feel at the moment.
Whatever it is we plan or communicate, it needs to be solid in its structure. Only the ideas that keep us committed to working through the most real and time-sensitive matters are meaningful now. As Mercury makes a conjunction to Saturn on Wednesday, we will come to understand the limits, the boundaries and the obstructions that are in our way. Reality checks might be more than we feel we can handle right now, but they are also necessary for us to understand the reasons why we have arrived at this moment, what it means for us and what it can bring about.
Thursday brings one of the bigger astrological movements of the month: Jupiter in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn. I wrote a full post about it last week, but in short, Jupiter and Pluto together can unleash a tremendous appetite for success and a tremendous collective power that we can tap into.
But not without testing us at every turn.
Pluto will drag Jupiter’s boundlessness through the back alleyways. Pluto destroys in order to transform. Pluto square Jupiter asks us to transform our ideas about balance, spirituality and justice.
But lofty theory won’t get us far.
Pluto does not let us get away with much, nor does it let us keep anything nonessential to our journey. Pluto strips us of our innocence and initiates us into a long, dark underworld journey. One that will reveal exactly what we are made of and exactly how mature our ideas of justice are.
These themes are echoed on Friday as Venus, planet of love, relationship and beauty makes a conjunction with Pluto in Capricorn and squares Jupiter in Libra. Venus is the current ruler of Jupiter, so this incarnation of the Jupiter/Pluto square (there will be 3 in total) has extra potency.
The addition of Venus to the equation will make the Jupiter/Pluto square reverberate on a much more personal note. Venus and Pluto together is an intense combination. One that can produce feelings extreme in nature, obsessive in effect and transformative in essence. Venus square Jupiter can exaggerate or magnify all that is occurring in our relationships at present.
I won’t say this is easy astrology. It’s fraught with both personal and collective challenges to witness and integrate. But it is fitting for this moment.
The week does end on a slightly easier note, however. Mercury in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries is an inspiring, innovative and experimental signature. It is the kind of creative thinking that we need to remind ourselves we are capable of. Fear freezes us. Leaves us open to demagogues. Creates a mental barrier to creative solutions. We need to recognize our fear and treat the threats to our freedom as real and present dangers, but to stay in fear robs us of our ability to realize our potential in any given moment.
May we remember, rekindle and collectively conspire to be creatively mobile.

This week’s Jupiter/Pluto square highlights the connections, however contentious, catalyzing or incentivizing, that link your career and your most important relationships. How you grow one effects the other.
Emotional intensity is the theme of the week. With Venus and Pluto merging in your 10th house of career, your work relationships carry an extra impact right now. Being willing to roll with their necessary transformations is your key to success. Trying to dominate any situation or rely on any aspect of power that you could wield over others could be disastrous. Make sure that you don’t embody what you denounce in the world. Show up as someone who is able to act in balanced, rational, fair and future-minded ways, no matter the circumstances.
The week could also bring you very important connections. Connections to folks that could transform your position, your way of doing your work or your effectiveness while doing it. Be on the look out for the folks that recognize your talent, your enthusiasm and your skill, but be protective of it as well. You are learning about long-term strategies for the forward movement of your career and the relationships that will help you to build it as much as you are learning about what you need from long-term relationships and how your career effects them. Be mindful of what you need from both and what both need from you.

This week’s Jupiter/Pluto square catches you at the intersection of what you most wish to develop through your working life and what you hold as the most important philosophical principals to live up to while doing so. There is a frustration and/or the activation of a desire to search for ways to bring these two aspects of life closer together. This might mean that you are being asked to recognize a part of yourself that isn’t currently able to be present while at work. This might mean that your work actually needs more of your personal philosophy added to it. This might mean that you are being called upon to transform your relationship to your work.
At the same time, this week asks that you peer deeply into the nature of your collaborations. Some will reveal themselves as worthy creative ventures capable of long-term commitments. Others will reveal the fact that they have run their course and should no longer be messed with. Whatever you learn about how you come to collaborative projects could be both deeply important and a little disturbing. Meet the hard truths with a wide lens. Give yourself room to outgrow your bad habits and give others the space to as well.

This week is asking you to find the courage to communicate your truth with an open mind and a commitment to integrity. Shying away from difficult discussions isn’t an option at the moment. Finding a way to maintain your dignity and the dignity of all those around you is, however, a top priority. Learning constructive ways to tackle difficult and divisive conversations is an art, one that your crew is especially good at. Find the resources that can best help you open up lines of communication rather than closing them down. Know which conversations are yours to have and which are better left for others to tackle.
I know you are versatile, but not everything is yours to do or talk about.
This week’s Jupiter/Pluto square urges you to look at the growth of your creative projects and the important transformations that are occurring in your partnerships. There is an important issue for you to tackle around the boundaries of what you share both in love and creative collaborations. While your growth in both areas is urged right now, it must be coupled with a healthy dose of caution and consciousness about the type of expansion that is taking place. Anything built on too flimsy a philosophical foundation won’t take you far. If something fizzles out, know it wasn’t built to last and instead seek to find solutions and ideals that can withstand even the gnarliest of transformative tests.

This week’s Jupiter/Pluto square prods at the foundations of your most important partnerships. There could be a fundamental transformation that your relationships are going through. Transformations that feel important, monumental and maybe even a little concerning, depending on how the changes effect you directly.
Sometimes it’s hard to remember that things that effect us in the most personal of ways aren’t personal. Whatever folks are going through around you will effect you, but those effects aren’t necessarily about you.
This week also looks at the work projects that demand your attention, especially your attention to the structure of the project. You might find it more important than usual to work within the deadlines and timeframes that keep your work-life running smoothly.
You might find that you have met a threshold in terms of your health and energy. You might find that you have creative breakthroughs that have you seeing innovative solutions to your situation and not just the difficult demands that challenge you.
Much of what has happened in your chart lately has asked you to let go of the work projects that no longer fit into your dream scheme for work and career. Sometimes when we release something, even when it wasn’t right for us, we feel a sense of loss or disorientation. Keep orientating yourself towards your truth. And keep letting that truth shine through all that you do.

This week brings up issues between you and your children or your creative projects. This week might have you reaching a limit, confronting a difficulty or finding a healthy boundary to work within. All children crave boundaries. All creative projects have an ending. Know when to let the young ones struggle on their own. Know when to step in and lay down the law. Know when to put the brush down and let the painting be finished. Know when to cut off a sentence.
Let the work that is done, be done.
This week’s Jupiter/Pluto square puts an emphasis on the power of your words. Especially at work, with writing projects or extended family members. You might have noticed an opening in this area of your life. A greater ease communicating your truth. A greater ease in your day to day life. A greater interest in what you can study, learn from and teach. A greater amount of time spent formulating and communicating your ideas in general.
This week takes that growth and tests it. Asks you to transform something about how you are scheduling your day-to-day life. Asks you to deal with a relationship issue that comes up in your work life. Asks you to see how you can diplomatically keep your cool while coming to terms with something that might tempt you towards a melt-down. This week might ask you to have the courage to have the conversations that, ultimately, help you be a better friend, cousin, co-worker or sister. But you’ll have to confront the feelings that come up to get there.

This week might ask you to be firm on a family situation. It might demand that you understand the limits that you are working with in a living situation. It might put pressure on you to be clearer than you were hoping you would have to be with those you share space with.
Some of you will need more time alone. Some of you will work with the persistent themes of childhood (which may include loneliness). Some of you will wish that you had more folks to rejoice with. If so, make community a priority. There is no time like the present to make space for chosen family.
Some of you will find it important to work on creatively reconstructing your family commitments. Think outside the box when dealing with home and family situations this week. Liberate yourself from how you usually respond to family dynamics. Try a new avenue. Doing so will help you to appreciate the healing opportunities for what they are.
This week’s Jupiter square Pluto could awaken a hunger in you. This hunger craves a financial win. It craves a deeper development of your resources. It craves a widening of your abilities to do business. It also asks you to transform an aspect of your financial plan. A project might have to be reconfigured. A budget might have to be redrawn. A creative project might have to be looked at more deeply, now that you have access to more information. Look for the ways in which you can develop your financial opportunities at home, through real-estate or through the creative projects that you are working on. There is a lot more that you could be doing with what you have. Look for ways to help your resources work for you.

Peace isn’t free. Peace is something we need to tend to everyday. Once it is taken for granted, it is lost. Peace is something we have to create the right environment for. Otherwise it escapes out the back door. Runs off with the neighbor. Hits the road. Peace needs us to constantly confront every bad behavior we have that gets in its way.
Nothing chases away peace like our guilt.
In order to have peace in our hearts we must make ourselves right with the world. Every day. All day. Taking responsibility for what we have said and done. For what we need and for what we can’t have any more of.
Your year of growth, your year with Jupiter, this next 10 months, isn’t without its checks and balances to your growth. For every expansion there is a need to weigh the outcome. For every outward movement there is the need to pull in and check to see how it has affected the base.
This week has you reckoning with family patterns and paying attention to what you want to transform within your lifetime. What you don’t want to pass on to the next generation. What you need to compost in order for the growth that you are currently experiencing to have real, spiritual weight, staying power and permanence in your life.

This week has you looking at bottom lines, financial strategies for moving forward and the ways in which you’ll have to capitalize on new creative solutions instead of the ones you have become accustomed to relying upon. Given the shifting tides of the political landscape we find ourselves in now, there will have to be new plays and new ways for us all to find, develop and create the resources that we most need.
Something becomes clearer as to how this can happen due to an important meeting, partnership or alliance that you make this week. Someone might give you a piece of information that is nothing less than transformative in its importance.
Secret sources of inspiration are your saving grace at the moment.
It’s always possible that people we don’t know, or don’t yet know about are helping us out at this very moment. Right now that is more true than usual for you. I urge you to transform any and all doubts that this is possible in your case. Compost your disbelief so that it can be used to grow the spiritually sustaining idea that help is always on its way. From the most unlikely of people and places.
The more you focus on doing all you can with what you have, the more you’ll be able to draw to you the help that you need. You might be too “grown” to believe in fairy godmothers but don’t be too grown to accept the gifts they bring you.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising
As the sun returns to your sign, so does some clarity. Some energy. Some decisive drive to get things done. This week asks you to make definitive decisions about what you need. It asks you to concretize a creative inspiration. It asks you to be clearer about your responsibilities to yourself and to your work.
It asks you to understand your most emergent dreams and the resources that you need to make them a reality.
Keep an eye on the relationships that you have been cultivating over the past couple of months, especially the ones that could potentially help you to further develop your hopes and dreams. Who has the smarts? The creativity? The connections? The understanding of what this undertaking will need in the months and years ahead? This is a time for us all to become deeply invested in resource exchanges. This is a time for us to become wiser to what we can give and receive from one another. This is a time for us to become committed to understanding what it means to be interdependent and interested in one another.
As social events call on you and fill your calendar, remember to show up to each of them ready to skill share and strategize. This year’s bounty relies on your ability to facilitate exchanges of all kinds, for the good of everyone involved.

The friction that is caused this week, between the growth of your career and what you personally need in order to keep on track with that growth, brings you some much needed information. So much is being teased out for us to witness right now. Personally and collectively. Spiritually and politically. Intellectually and emotionally. As big as the drama on the world stage is, the emotional drama we all feel most likely matches it. As the world shifts, struggling to understand what to do with itself, we must all struggle with it, learning how to deepen our understanding of ourselves and our place in it all.
These are vulnerable days.
Learn from the vulnerability. Learn about what you do in these circumstances. Learn about what you need to steady yourself in the dizzying array of events. Learn about what it means to stay deeply centered in yourself while you interact with a world that seems to have lost its center. We must each be that point of stillness for ourselves and for the immediate world around us. We must not let ourselves be buffeted about by the tides that would rather we be taken down.
You are meant to take up space this year. Meant to find out about your potential. Meant to share that with the rest of us. Stand strong in that. Notice who stands with you. Notice who can’t quite yet. Move towards the folks that keep you in check and well-loved. We all need a balance of both right now. There is no need for undeserved compliments but there is a great need for unrestrained love.

Part of this week’s astrological influences are pulling focus on the friendships, communities and social gatherings you attend. There are creative solutions available to ease your troubles through the folks you extend yourself to.
It’s not a good time to isolate.
Right now we need to remind one another of what is important. We need to hold what others cannot and to have others hold what we cannot. We need to remind one another of the relief of being heard. Of hearing. Of holding. Of consoling.
We need to remember that we are the solution to the mess we find ourselves in.
This week also highlights the boundaries, limits and responsibilities that need to be tended to, honored and acknowledged with your friends, communities and social obligations. Honor your word. Remember not to overextend yourself so that honoring your word is easier and more enjoyable. Our ability to be clear and consistent with one another will pay off in major ways in the coming days.
The other part of this week’s astrological influences asks you to make peace with the fact that a long-term goal might be shifting slightly. It might be necessary to allow a part of your plan to transform. Your journey isn’t supposed to be linear. Give yourself a little breathing room, some space and some time to recalibrate if you need it.

This week’s astrological influences shine an important light on your efforts in the world. Your work gets a boost. Your ability to find creative solutions is magnified. Your ability to find those that can help your cause is too. Reach out to folks who want to band together to bring about what is most needed now, in your work and in the world. You are primed to be able to name both the limits and the limitlessness of the strategies that are set forth.
There are powerful lessons to be learned right now about the nature of your hopes and dreams. This week might bring you intense emotional connections with the people that share them with you. This week might bring you community situations that inform you about what you need now from groups and gatherings. This week might bring you important interactions that are transformational in nature.
As your ruling planet, Jupiter, moves through an important passage this week, you’ll be met with a significant situation to contend with. What transformations are you undertaking? What have you been learning about the nature of your partnerships? What do you know you most need to let go of if you are going to be able to grow in the ways you know you need to now? Your success depends on your ability to adapt, change and become more available to what your life is asking of you.
