This week is another whirlwind of activity that is sure to feel like a cosmic kick in the pants. Much like last week, this week is a unit of time that encourages us to go beyond our comfort zone and try on our destiny for size.
Tuesday brings a bout of lucky, spunky courage as Mars trines Jupiter, but it’s Wednesday in particular that is hot. Burning. Hot. Mars conjuncts Uranus in Aries and squares Pluto in Capricorn.
Mars doesn’t care about feelings. Mars doesn’t care about pain, except sometimes in the creation of it. Mars takes no prisoners and asks no permission. Mars forges ahead and, like the sword it represents, does damage and/or makes definitive decisions.
But what else is a warrior to do?
Mars is in one of its own signs right now, Aries. Mars is more capable of being useful in its own sign because it has access to its resources. We can utilize this energy to constructively cut away what we do not need.
It’s just that the combination of Mars and Uranus is especially volatile. Uranus rules upsets, upheavals, accidents and earthquakes. If you are holding a machete and the earth beneath you starts to quake you are likely to do some unintentional damage.
Pluto represents long lasting changes and feelings locked away in subterranean incubators. When they get released they can level what we have built above ground.
So swords down soldiers. Until you’re sure you can make a precise and useful incision or removal. Then by all means strike.
This combination could stir our collective and personal unrest and make concrete and obvious what we detest (did you see the last episode of Scandal?). Mars can have us itching for a fight and daring dragons to duels. So don’t unless you mean it.
Beware of taking on battles that are not yours to take on. Every time anger burns in your belly about a worldly cause check to see what it is reflecting about your lived experience. Keeping a pulse on how things are systemic and also personal is a sure route towards healing. Taking action while consciously knowing why we are engaging is a straight shot to justice.
After the momentary hubbub of mars, Saturn stations retrograde on Saturday. When a planet stations retrograde or direct it’s a call to incorporate that planet’s significations or a manifestation of its principles in our lives. In this case with Saturn we are stalled, leveled and/or anchored. Saturn reversing directions signals a time of reviewing the groundwork we have been laying since December. Checking out our structures and systems of doing things. Making sure that how we work in whatever area Saturn is in, is working for us.
This is good timing because two days later, on March 16th/17th, the last Uranus/Pluto square occurs. I wrote about it extensively in the second half of last week’s piece on the full moon in Virgo. It speaks to the upset, upheaval and groundbreaking energies I spoke of Mars igniting. This week’s horoscopes also focus on it as well as Saturn stationing retrograde. Next week’s scopes will be focused on it as well as the solar eclipse in Pisces and the Vernal Equinox both occurring on March 20th. I am offering a new moon/solar eclipse class available on March 19th (but you can buy tickets now) as well as a call on the lunar eclipse that will follow on April 4th.
Be well, be bold, be wise and be on your game.
Blessings,
Chani
Basically everything we talked about last week, but more. And extra. And then some on top. Especially from Monday-Thursday. And especially, especially Wednesday.
Tempers flare, feelings fly, ambitions heat up and at any (and every) moment you are likely to charge ahead like the rambunctious ram that you are. You are most likely hopped up on endorphins with an unpredictable skip in your step. It’s volatile, but you’ve still got that unique mix of lucky ladies and dangerous angels at your side.
Just don’t jump out of any planes this week. But do jump out of fearful responses to those that show affection for you. Fearing love is fearing your potential and right now your potential is a high-wattage creative concoction of power and persistence.
By the weekend, Saturn, the task-master and karmic leveler, stations retrograde. This is the planet that rules all things to do with your career and the allies that make it possible. So while there is a rushing forth of spring energy, there is also something being halted, slowed down and possibly steadied by a coolheaded cosmic helping hand.
Try not to bite the hand that helps you.
It’s easy to forget just how much we as humans operate out of fear. We fear losing face. We fear losing our place. We fear being seen. We fear not being seen.
We project our fears onto the “other,” both known and unknown. Whole industries capitalize on our fears. Whole countries convince parents to heave their children onto battlegrounds because of fear. Governments are able to wage war after war for no other reason than their ability to feed on our fears, manipulate and control us via our fears, and distort every other person, place and thing through the lens of fear.
We sell our sisters, brothers and cousins out because we fear what we might lose if we do not. We sell ourselves out because we fear we are not enough.
Use this week to understand not only the nature, but the root of your fear. Doing so will help you make solid leaps and bounds towards your personal liberation. I promise that if you simply acknowledge how often you are operating from fear you will be floored and also empowered to choose another emotion, another place in you to operate from. I promise that if you admit to yourself and to those around you (that you trust) that you are afraid and what you are afraid of, you will feel a loosening of the bounds that fear has wrapped around you.
And that is no small feat.
So many feelings of inadequacy can arise when we leave our self-esteem in the hands of others. Just think of how many times you change your mind in a day. Just think of how many times your mood shifts in an hour. You’re human. You’re fickle.
Just think, everyone in the world is exactly like you.
How someone feels about you now, then, or in the near future is (mostly) completely out of your control. Everyone will do and say and feel and think exactly what they will.
A tremendous amount of your astrological energy is focused on others in your life. Your boundaries with them. Your relationship agreements with them. Your ability to show up for them and them for you. What pisses you off about them and them about you.
So many feelings of frustration can arise when we meet the limitations of others. Why can’t they just be who we want them to be?! Why do they have to be so annoyingly self centered instead of being completely willing to cater to all of our needs? Why do our soul mates and divine dates bring up every single childhood trauma, fear and fantasy of betrayal?
Healing, that’s why. Maturity, growth and evolution too. Your week is packed with it. There’s no escaping it. There’s only a fight against it or a surrendering to it.
Wave your white flag. It’s a surefire way of being freed from the disappointments that your expectations bring and it’s a straight shot towards feeling at ease with yourself no matter what anyone else is or isn’t doing.
What you may have noticed is the undeniable fact that work works. Your attitude to it doesn’t always though. You are long overdue for a reframe so you can refrain from bad attitudes and worse work habits. Even in the subtlest of ways you can sabotage your best efforts.
It can take a lifetime to understand how we tick. It can take multiple seasons to get a grip. It can take many a moon to activate our potential and there is no better way to do so than by going steady with everything you talk big game about.
The only way to manifest epic projects is to bow deeply to your daily grind.
Otherwise it’s too easy to let go of the reigns. Being conscious and in control of our thoughts and, therefore, actions requires diligence and a sturdy desire to be here.
You’ve got a lot on your plate work wise. You’ve got many tasks at hand in the grand scheme of things. But if you don’t keep the big picture big and the small acts to get there flowing, you might just choke on your big talk and stumble over the laundry you forgot to fold.
Thank the cosmos for 120 degree angles. Trines baby. You got ‘em coming your way in droves. Trines are flowing, helpful aspects in astrology. Moments of protection, good fortune or ease.
I’m not saying that this is a time without challenge.
But I am saying that you are able to utilize the struggle and create some opportunity out of it. It could light up your potential. It might awaken your fight or motivate you to boldly go where you had not before.
Get your boots on, it’s time for you to take a hike if you haven’t already.
Jupiter having been in your sign since last July is still begging you to see the big picture while simultaneously seeing yourself in it. It’s asking you to expand beyond your known parameters and right now it’s more of a demand than an ask.
It’s also time for you to deal with an issue that has been building that has to do with your creative progeny, children (yours or others), a romantic/love relationship or your own creative potential. Take these topics seriously. Especially that part about your potential. It’s real but it will only be made manifest once you acknowledge its importance.
Whatever you want to birth also wants you to birth it. But nothing is coming without a push and that’s all on you.
It’s layered and complex. You get to one baseline thinking that you have all the answers, only to realize it’s simply just one truth. Realizing that there are layers, levels and multiple ways of seeing a story you go back to digging, excavating and rooting out the accuracy in the fabrications and the falsity in what you always thought to be legit.
Family isn’t simple. Parents aren’t perfect. Feeling safe isn’t always the foundation we come from. Creating an inner life in living color isn’t always second nature-depending on how our nature was nurtured.
You are in the process of putting a root down, but in order to do so you have to feel worthy of claiming the space you are standing in.
Feel your feet.
Take up the space that your parents couldn’t, that your grandparents couldn’t, that your people, historically, couldn’t. Do what they could not or would not. Not in an overpowering, bullying way. Just in an affirmation of your existence and a commitment to it. This is your right: to gracefully exist without apology.
Imagine waking up one day and realizing that you’ve taken everyone for granted. That you had shunned the adoration of others. That you had snubbed the humble offerings of love and companionship. That you had missed the opportunity to stick it out, show up and find a way to work through the challenging terrain of relating.
Imagine that you woke up one day and realized that everything you balked at, everything you snubbed and turned you nose up at was really just love in disguise. It was really the divine trying to tap you on the shoulder. Or the sublime asking you for a dance.
Imagine waking up one day and realizing that everything you saw was a complete distortion, a mind game made up by your ego, a projection of your fears onto everyone and everything.
Imagine that you had the power to observe your thoughts, like an audience member in their seat. Like you had distance from the thought forms your mind made up. Imagine that you were the observer, the witness, the onlooker.
Entertain the possibility that everything you think that is not rooted in love is just a reaction to some thought that you are inadequate, incapable and afraid of the unknown. Entertain the possibility that everyone standing in front of you is a constellation of such a thought form and consider using all of your conscious will to pray/meditate on seeing them as they actually are-not as you fear, wish or hope them to be.
Your mission this week, should you choose to accept it, is to take note of how you feel when you are at work. What tensions do you hold? What worries do you conjure up? What delays have you dealing with all kinds of internal stress? What co-workers have you wishing that you could fly solo and what is your preferred mode of dealing with difficult dudes? Which projects need to take a momentary rest and are you able to give them some breathing room.
There’s nothing wrong with pausing to see how you might make money with less stress. Not that you have to shift your actual work (although that might very well be the case) but you might shift your attitude about it.
Same goes for your health. Stress sucks. Tension, inflammation and burn out shutdown our pathways to joy. No matter how much is on your plate right now it’s imperative that you carve out and protect a certain amount of time to restore, relax, rejuvenate and renew. I promise that if you do all your other problems will start to become less likely to bum you out.
Work on the little things to keep the bigger ones afloat.
Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising
Saturn, currently in your sign stations retrograde this week. Saturn is famous for making us feel like the walls are crashing in on us. But if you read last week’s horoscope you’ll know that this week is anything but halting. This week your need for creative self-expression is at an all time high. This week your creative genius is too. The week your love affairs and passionate embraces have a way of consuming your every thought. You must engage with the world in a way that feels authentic, inspired and evocative.
However. Something about how you make money, how you feel energetically and how you communicate generally is going to be under review. It doesn’t mean that it slows down. It just means that these areas of your life might take a different route than you were expecting. It means that you might have moments of self-doubt that feel momentarily incapacitating.
Have patience while at the same time bolstering yourself up with the courage to pursue and attract all the attention that you currently need. It’s more friction than you may have bargained for. More form than you were hoping to have to take at this point but the truth of the matter is that whatever way you are hoping to make money better have your current and unfolding passion at the center of the plan-otherwise it’s bound to backfire.
This week your ruling planet, Saturn, stations retrograde. This is a highly nuanced move because of the planet’s current positioning your chart-your Twelfth House of hidden agendas and things that need finishing up. Saturn’s transit here started back in late December 2014. It signals that this phase of your journey is one of finishing up old agendas before embarking on a new one (in about 3 years). Saturn’s transit of the Twelfth House isn’t always the easiest to get a handle on, specifically because of its emphasis on releasing former ambitions.
Not so easy for a goat going for great achievements.
This week encourages you to review your relationship to this process. At the same time the majority of the rest of the astrology is taking place in your Fourth House of beginnings, endings and foundations. This is an equally hidden arena, perhaps more private than hidden, but unseen nonetheless.
What this is suggesting is that you spend time tending to and appreciating the quality of your inner life, your home life and your spiritual life. We have nothing if we don’t have a sense of ease and peace when we close our eyes at night and open them up in the morning. Current quarrels or conundrums in your family or home situation may be triggering more upset than a reset. Use what arises there as a way to understand your needs better. Use everything that occurs in your life to understand yourself better.
Your ruling planet, Saturn, is stationing retrograde this week. Because it’s doing so in your Eleventh House of allies, friends and the groups you get down with, this is a sensitive moment that could bring up your feelings and fears about belonging. It’s an important time to reconsider how to best build with others especially along the lines of any business plans, new social structures or future goals.
It’s not that you shouldn’t keep on keeping on with whatever work you are getting done. It’s just that this week signals a time when you need to keep your eye on what you want to revise.
With a boatload of energy that wants to rush into conversations, declare intentions and demonstrate how brave and fearless you really are, this is an interesting balancing act you’re being asked to perform.
If there are fights you are chomping at the bit to have (especially with siblings, neighbors and those in your community), refrain from having them. You most certainly want to let the meat of this week pass before you dive headlong into heated debates about who’s right or what’s wrong. Stay away from divisive thoughts and pray for the strategies to be straightforward with out putting others on defense.
Keep your eye on the financial affairs that we’ve been discussing and all of the self-esteem and self worth issues that come along with such subject matter. Right now it’s important that you focus on what beliefs about this area of your life can be broken down. Sometimes when we take fears bit by bit and piece by piece we can actually dismantle them.
Rome wasn’t built in a day and it didn’t crumble in one either.
I don’t mean to sound like a new-age dirt bag. I don’t mean to imply that there aren’t a million reasons for unemployment and low resources and in no way should anyone take that upon themselves or have it reflect their self-worth. In fact I encourage you to see the ways in which the system is set up to make you feel inadequate and fight the power by celebrating all the real wealth you really are surrounded by. See friends. Hug trees. Sing back to the birds that chirp spring songs at you. Eat your lunch like a queen.
If your finances are rocky this might be one of those times where you have to ride the wave of acceptance and trust, leaning on prayer and mindfulness.
Sometimes focusing exclusively on what we have instead of what we don’t allows for more of what we want into our lives. Sometimes all we really need is a swift kick in the ego to remind us that we leave this world with only the love we created while being here.
With Saturn stationing retrograde in your Tenth House of career and life’s work you might be in a moment that needs reflection for the long run. Don’t be afraid to reconsider your long-term terrain. It’s worth your while to back-track now rather than later. Just make sure of one thing-go for what you want not what low self-esteem tells you you are capable of.
