Jupiter transited Libra from September 2016 – October 2017. Over the past year, Jupiter struggled with the peace, love and justice that Libra strives to bring about. Met with a formidable opposition to Uranus and square to Pluto, Jupiter was entangled in the messy web of the waning Uranus/Pluto square. Uranus disrupts the well-laid plans of any planet it comes in contact with. Pluto brings it down and through an underworld initiation.
Jupiter’s year battling these two left the Lady of Liberty herself wondering just how to balance her scales. Every year Jupiter spends about 3 months of the time retrograde. Since Jupiter governs our cycles of growth and philosophies of living, its retrograde period is always a helpful one where we can check to see if the growth we are experiencing is lining up with our ultimate goals.
Jupiter will station retrograde at 23° of Scorpio on March 9th and station direct at 13° of Scorpio on July 10th.
Jupiter Return
Every time we have a Jupiter return we learn something about the nature of our natal Jupiter. Which is to say, the nature of our faith, optimism, ability to grow, expand and say yes to the right things. If you were born with Jupiter in Scorpio, you are now experiencing your Jupiter return. One of the most important things to consider when a planet returns to its natal position is the nature of the planet itself, the sign that it is in and the house that it is in in your chart. The house that your natal Jupiter lives in tell your WHERE in your life Jupiter’s influence is most potent. For more advanced students, also consider the houses in your chart that Jupiter rules (the houses that contain Sagittarius and Pisces).
