April 19th
4:12 AM PT – Full moon at 29° Libra
On the edge of Libra, the second full moon in a row happens in the sign of the scales. This full moon acts as an exclamation point on the area of our chart that contains Libra. With this unusual double feature, April’s full moon ties into the themes of March. What peaked for you last month wasn’t the full story; this week’s full moon fleshes out the plot lines, making its point known.
Full moons are moments in the lunar cycle where something has peaked. The energy of a situation is at its fullest. Like a flower bud bursting open, all the glory that was held in the potential of a thing is revealed to the world. Now bees can come to roll around in the pollen of the project, spreading its potency far and wide. On the way to the full moon, make every effort to perfect, love, and care for what it is you want to release in the world. The full moon carries your intention forward with your efforts.
These two full moons in Libra are commenting on whatever it was we began about 7 months ago, with the new moon in Libra in October of 2018. Your horoscope below speaks more specifically to the area of life that these full moons are impacting but, in general, notice what in your life is naturally finding its own dynamic balance, it’s own conclusion and its own way of shining in the world.
April 20th
Sun enters Taurus
Welcome, Taurus Season! The first couple of weeks of it aren’t as chill as the bull likes to be, but the fields are alive with a different kind of music right now. As the sun wanders through these pastures, little earthquakes give way to larger ones. Change is afoot, and those with important points and planets in (especially the early degrees of) Taurus will be challenged to change in ways they’ve never been. Even the most stable of seasons have completely unexpected conditions to contend with. This is one of them.
Venus enters Aries
As the goddess leaves her throne and exaltation in Pisces, she moves into territory that is the exact opposite of where she thrives. Venus in Aries is a short-lived love affair. A fiery heart that burns out before it’s had time to figure out what it wants. A restless lover who has incredible magnetism, but not necessarily an interest in sticking around for the long-haul. That’s not to say that people with this placement are like this, but the conditions that Venus finds herself in, in Aries, force her to move mountains for relationships that last. If you want to learn more about your own personal Venus placement, and other things to do with love and intimacy in your personal chart, please join me for the workshop Your Love, Sex, and Synastry.
April 22nd
Sun conjunct Uranus in Taurus at 2°
Today’s astrology highlights the longer-range changes that Taurus is going through. The next 7 years sees Uranus transiting through Taurus, and every planet that now roams through the bull’s eye meets this maker. Uranus is here to work the fields in a much different way than they have been thus far. Innovating how we handle the resources that we have access to makes all the difference under these skies.
April 24th
Pluto stations retrograde at 23° Capricorn
This year, Pluto stations retrograde next to the south node. This gives the transit an extra emphasis on purging, releasing, and being relieved of what isn’t good for our spiritual growth. Pluto will spend the next 6 months moving a mere 3°, stationing direct at 20° Capricorn on October 2, 2019. That means if you have any planets or points between 20°-23° of Capricorn (Aries, Cancer, or Libra)they are receiving a very thorough investigation from Pluto. This Lordess of the Underworld has dirt on all of us, though. Whether or not we have planets in Capricorn, this transit helps us to investigate the motives that we have in the area of our chart that contains this earth sign.
April 27th
Mars in Gemini square Neptune in Pisces, both at 17°
A momentary confusion can set in as Mars, the warrior works its way through the fog and misleading signposts that Neptune places in its path. This is a quick transit so if you feel lost, stay where you are and wait for your mom or the next best thing to come get you.
April 29th
Saturn stations retrograde at 20° Capricorn
Stationing direct on the south node, days after Pluto did the same, Saturn will retrograde all the way back to 13° Capricorn, where it will station direct on September 18, 2019. From now until then it inspects, with the utmost scrutiny, the structures, guidelines, and fears that get in the way of us doing our best work. Saturn wants to check to see if we have done our homework, stayed late, and given the things we are working on the proper time to take shape. Conjunct the south node, Saturn’s station retrograde might have us contemplating the goals that are our guideposts. When these two come together we are asked to get real about the reasons for wanting to achieve what we do. Saturn slows us down to get it right; doing so on the south node might make us more willing to be honest with ourselves so we can release those goals that actually do nothing for us in the long run.
April 30th
Mercury in Aries sextile Mars in Gemini, both at 20°
Today, Mercury gets some help from its current ruler, Mars. Conversations are stimulating to say the least. Consensual dirty talk never sounded so sweet. Your more daring sentiments are expressed with greater ease and received with greater excitement.
May 1st
Mercury in Aries square Saturn Rx in Capricorn, both at 20°
Mercury now gives us a run for our money, moving swiftly through a couple of difficult situations. Everything ends up on a brighter note, but we are challenged to momentarily wade through some sludge. Today’s astrology has us up against a limitation or boundary in our thinking, or in terms of another that we are having a conversation with. Stay with what works and put obstacles in perspective. Things will shift by end of day tomorrow.
May 2nd
Mercury in Aries square Pluto Rx in Capricorn, both at 23°
Rounding out this challenging conversation, Mercury squares Saturn, the south node, and now Pluto. The truth is out there, but we have to be willing to release our ego in the process of finding it. Power dynamics get especially challenging with this transit so speak words that help deconstruct unfair imbalances.
Mercury in Aries trine Jupiter Rx in Sagittarius, both at 23°
Triumphantly, Mercury wins whatever battle it was waging. Spreading the good news, this configuration helps us to see beyond the burdens of our situation and make the most of the solutions we can think up, communicate, and take action on.
Horoscopes for Aries & Aries Rising
Just before Aries Season comes to a close, the second full moon in a row lights up your 7th house of committed partnerships. Over the stretch of March and April, these full moons have asked you to focus on the ins and outs of your intimate relationships and business partnerships. What’s been revealed needs to be taken into account.
Don’t waste your time pretending that you didn’t hear, see, or come to know what you have about your connections with others. Your heart, your talent, your energy all deserve to be connected to the people that get you and what you are up to. It is more than reasonable to refuse a match that is anything less than the perfect fit; in fact, it’s time-management 101.
The relationships that have revealed themselves as reciprocally inspiring now get a boost. What you began with another back in October now gets loved and lifted up.
The sun’s conjunction with Uranus on April 22nd tempts you to rebel against your self-doubt. What has it done for you lately? This transit is one of many occurring over the course of the next month that ask you to innovate your work in one way or another. Don’t be alarmed if the way your work life is flowing feels unfamiliar. Keep attuning yourself to how your resources want to work for you. Instead of trying to fit them into a system that might not understand what you are offering, build bridges to those that do.
As Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde (April 24th and 29th), they pull focus on your career roles, obligations, structures and the power of what you create when you take the time to build it with integrity. Try to focus more on the shape of it then the speed you think it should be built with. If it’s taking more time than you thought it would, it needs more time than you knew. Don’t rush what’s worth waiting for.

Horoscopes for Taurus & Taurus Rising
If you want to break professional boundaries, records, and reasonable goals, you have to be willing to go it alone at times. You have to be willing to disturb the peace and be blamed for the disruption. You have to like yourself enough to risk being rejected by those that don’t understand you. Yet.
The second of two full moons in a row will be lighting up your 6th house of work projects, habits, and patterns. It helps your best efforts get the boost that they deserve, but there are other astrological forces at play that say you want more than just gold stars.
The sun’s conjunction with Uranus in Taurus is a rock-star of a start to your season. Encouraging you to break new ground, this astrology gets you to cause a little more commotion than is common for you. Living out loud, channeling chaotic creativity, and freaking out the part of you that yearns for stability, is par for the course. Your adverse internal responses need to be weighed against the necessary risks you must take at the moment. Soothe yourself, then challenge yourself.
As Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde (April 24th and 29th), they pull focus on your path forward. If there are places that you want to go but are putting off for fear of not being up to the task, this transit will ask you to outgrow such a limited understanding of what you are capable of.

Horoscopes for Gemini & Gemini Rising
With the second full moon in a row lighting up your 5th house of creative projects, energy, and opportunities, April makes a point of telling you that you are talented. Whatever you have been working on developing since October of 2018 is now getting a double dose of divine love. What have you learned about spending your creative currency? What is your artistic tempo? When does your creativity need rest? Time to play, ponder and experiment? The less energy you spend trying to please others with what you are making, the more energy you’ll have to celebrate and appreciate the creative process in and of itself. It is its own reward.
The sun’s conjunction with Uranus on April 22nd teases out a talent, and possibly a sorrow, that has laid dormant for too long. What you’ve had to keep secret now needs to be set free. Truths that have been locked away in your unconscious are plotting an escape. Best to be their accomplice. It may be a rocky release, but the reward of living an honest life is worth the work to do so.
As Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde (April 24th and 29th), they pull focus on your collaborations. The biggest lessons that you are learning in regards to the exchanges of time, energy, and effort you make with others are most likely about taking responsibility for your part of the process. The less you overextend yourself, the less resentment you’ll have. Boundaries are a beautiful thing, make time to love up yours.

Horoscopes for Cancer & Cancer Rising
With two full moons in a row in your 4th house of foundations, these past couple of months have brought you face to face with your non-negotiable needs. How you learn to care for your inner life makes your public one more pleasurable. How you learn to address your internal responses to your external growth helps you expand in ways that align with your purpose instead of pursuing what is merely fashionable. How you learn to take your home with you, no matter where you are, keeps you connected to what sustains you across continents and decades.
Consider how your work might feed future generations.
The sun’s conjunction with Uranus on April 22nd illuminates the social sea change that you are a part of. Something innovate wants to come through you and the people that you are gathering with. Listen to what your creativity wants to give to your audience. Listen to the ideas that your community has in regard to creative problem solving and socially conscious strategies for success. Your group-mindedness is grounded in a desire to make something better for everyone. Risk being momentarily misunderstood so that you can eventually be a motivating force for the collective good.
As Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde (April 24th and 29th), they pull focus on the shape and state of your committed partnerships. The ones that are high-functioning will get a chance to explore the depth of mutual pleasures you can reach. The relationships that are already rocky will likely crash into the issues that need to be dealt with. During transits like this, no matter the state of the union, the deeper fears of intimacy and betrayal arise to be healed, held, and understood for what they are. Fears aren’t always reliable friends to tag along with, though. Make it your goal to grow into the kind of person you’d feel relieved to be in a partnership with.
In the first 2 days of May, Mercury brings up important professional conversations that detail the nature of the obstacles you are up against. Ultimately they lead to learning something of incredible value, so don’t get thrown off by doubt. Stay around until the solutions come, because they are on their way.

As Pluto and then Saturn both station retrograde (April 24th and 29th), they pull focus on the structures of your work life. What is sound survives the overhaul, but what needs a once over will get a thorough inspection. You’ll be revising plans, agendas, and the applications of your skills, but for the best reasons. In the end, these transits will see you clearer about your professional roles and reasons for occupying them.

Horoscopes for Virgo & Virgo Rising
The second full moon in a row to light up your 2nd house of money, resources and assets mean business. Whatever financial lessons March and April brought you are coming to a close, but you’d be remiss to forget their meanings too quickly. What you learned about how to work with your resources, and issues that came up in regard to them, are priceless. Give yourself a bonus for the learning curves you’ve come through.
The sun’s conjunction with Uranus on April 22nd teases out the feelings that are bound to accompany the new journey you are on. Jitters are normal if you are allowing yourself to surpass your comfort zone, and it looks like that’s exactly what you’re being asked to do. Study what pushes your thinking into new paradigms. Put yourself in situations where you are forced to learn about what lies outside of your experience. Discomfort isn’t a punishment, it’s part of any good growth cycle.
Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde between April 24th and 29th, pulling focus on your creative projects and your process with them. What fears do you need to move through so that your creative energy feels free to do what it needs to? What do you have a hard time trusting about your creative process? What structures, time, energy, and focus do you need to give your creative energy so that you feel more at ease following its rhythms and ways? Help yourself by focusing on the craft rather than the crowd.

The most important gaze to capture is your own. Keep your eyes on the prize. April is home to the second full moon in Libra in a row and as it graces you with a double dose of the spotlight, you get to see a little more of yourself. Especially when coming to understand parts of your past, compassion is key.

Horoscopes for Aquarius & Aquarius Rising
Nothing can replace soulfulness. No amount of social currency can be a substitute for doing the work meant for you. Meaning has to be made out of life’s ups and downs. Meaning is something you get when you commit to living into, through, and for what you hold as sacred. With every choice you make, every action you take, you move closer towards it or further from it.
Just before Aries Season comes to a close, the second full moon in a row lights up your 9th house of long-distance travels, far-off adventures, and future plans. These two full moons have been asking you to get clear on why you are moving towards what you are moving towards. Given your goals, are you getting what you need out of the process? Is it deepening your relationship to yourself? Has the journey been satisfying on a soul level? If not, April’s full moon might point out a path that would, will, and wants to be.
As Taurus Season settles in, the sun’s conjunction with Uranus on April 22nd teases out a fault line at the base of your life. An issue from the past, with a parent or housemate, is awakened. Like any beast aroused from slumber, this one is testy. Try not to cage your emotions in too close quarters. You need time to understand the more emotionally dense reactions that erupt. There’s wisdom in the old stories that get replayed now. There’s a paradigm to shift. There’s a story to retell, one that casts you as the plucky protagonist. You’re being asked to reorient yourself with the events of your past, furthering your relationship with your agency in the present.
Pluto and then Saturn station retrograde between April 24th and 29th, pulling focus on your unconscious habits and patterns. What is purged in the process frees up so much space for your creative energy and abilities to take shape? Don’t be afraid of facing a self-sabotaging behavior. It’s just you distorted. Free yourself so that you can be more available for yourself.

This is a long-range change, one that will slowly but surely lead to you communicating with greater clarity, honesty, and an ability to get the attention of those you wish to. The more innovative you are about getting your message across, the more freedom you’ll find to tell your story. Don’t let the rejection of your tale take root in your being. You have every right to speak your truth as anyone else does. Get creative about how to bring it to those that are ready to receive it.
Pluto and then Saturn’s station retrograde (April 24th and 29th) pulls focus on your friendships, social roles, and obligations.
