With Mars’s change of sign, hopefully helping to slow the roll of life for a moment, the week takes on an earthier tone than life has had of late. The real world has very real results. This week intends to bring them. The full moon in Virgo solidifies this sentiment, finishing off the week with a moment of contemplation, confirmation and consideration.

What works? What is broken beyond repair? What has been lived out to its fullest? What is ready for release without regret?

Virgo needs to be able to apply its well developed skill towards a cause worthy of its relentless effort. This equation is necessary otherwise exertion is in vain. Otherwise the work isn’t as useful. Otherwise our efforts are at our own expense.

This Sunday’s full moon sits in a square to Saturn in Sagittarius. Saturn is The Disciplinarian. The Taskmaster. The Guardian at The Gate. It lets no one past the threshold unless they have paid the price. Done the work. Until they are ready to deal with the consequences.

This full moon is ruled by Mercury. The Messenger is currently in Pisces. Pisces is a sign that often muddles the clarity that Mercury prefers. Here Mercury has a harder time grasping the details of things. Pisces blends, merges and shape shifts. Mercury is also making a square to Saturn. An exact square to Saturn. On the day of the full moon.

Messy doesn’t cut it with this moon. We need meaning. We need a clarity of purpose. We need a movement that isn’t afraid of the hard work and sacrifice that is required of us if progress is to be made.

Remembering that Venus has just begun its retrograde, we can also look for its themes weaving their way through the week. Currently in Aries, Venus makes contrary the new cute. Normally striving for a likablility, Venus in Aries is more prone to kicking up a fuss. Venus in Aries rocks the boat. Refuses to play nice. Asks us what a day without a woman would look like.
