Now 50% Off: I have a reading and ritual for your sign for Monday’s full moon in Aries, as well as a guided meditation and altar suggestions in A Workshop for the New Moon in Virgo, Fill moon in Aries, and the Astrology of the Lunar Cycle from September 9th to October 7th
On September 24th, two days after the sun enters Libra, the full moon in Aries arrives at 7.52pm PT. The potency of the equinox still lingers as our celestial lights are stretched to their maximum capacity. As the sun sets in the west, the full moon rises in the east. Equal in size in the early evening sky, the luminary’s full moon dance reminds us of the transitory nature of balance.
We are meant to fall in and out of it.
As the sun shines through the justice-oriented, relationship-focused sign of Libra, the moon blazes brightly in the incredibly independent, individualistic, and decisively bold sign of Aries.
Libra is dedicated to the pursuit of justice and equity for all. Aries is dedicated to developing and utilizing personal courage in pursuit of a victorious end. Libra wants fair compromise. Aries wants a win at any cost.
Known also as the harvest, corn, or barley moon in the Northern Hemisphere, this full moon comes with the kind of consequences that a change of season reminds us of. At this juncture, we have done all we could within the time constraints of the seasons past. We must face ourselves and the impact of our efforts with as much honesty, compassion, and accountability as possible.
Square Saturn in Capricorn, the full moon in Aries has a serious set up. Our limits, personal, professional, and otherwise are revealed. We must find the most creative ways to work within the structures we are currently in. The realities that we face might feel stern and unyielding, but they are also the perfect containers for our personal growth.
The challenge for most of us is to trust that this is so.
When things feel heavy, our hopes and dreams tend to sink along with the weight of our responsibilities. Keeping things in perspective is challenging when so many of our capacities are overloaded. Be cautious when taking on anything extra or burdensome at this point. Not only is the full moon square Saturn, but so too is the sun (completing its square to the Stern Sister on September 25th). This makes for multiple days that feel tightly packed with responsibilities we must tend to. At this point in the lunar cycle, you will value every inch of extra space that you have access to.
Leave yourself some breathing room.
Saturn is harsh, unsympathetic, and unyielding in its ability to encourage self-denial but, when worked with, it is undeniably magical. Every potion brewed is only as potent as the container it is created in. Cracks cause leaks. Wobbly bases spill contents. Saturn is here to help us firm up our boundaries. It temporarily limits some of our more free-wheeling ways, but it makes clear the power of our focused, consistent, and carefully considered efforts.
This full moon is also sextile Mars in Aquarius. Mars is the ruler of the full moon and its sextile is a confirmation that we are given the courage needed to face the constraints we are in. Aries loves nothing more than a good challenge. A fight worth weighing in on. A stress worth the eventual win.
Whatever you have been dreaming, developing, and creating in your creative incubators is worthy of the struggle to bring it into form. Resistance is part of the process of release. This astrology is a moment in that struggle, a moment that defines the importance of what it is you are bringing into the world. A moment that acknowledges the time it takes to make something of quality. A moment to be a courageous protector of your creations, setting the appropriate boundaries so that they have the chance to take shape on their own terms.
