Moon in Aquarius
The moon makes a sextile to Venus, Saturn and Uranus today. With no other major aspect, today has a chance of feeling easy, breezy and interesting. Can be a great day for problem solving and finding solutions that serve the collective. Aquarius wants to make sure concepts are communally beneficial, fair and well thought out.
Tuesday, January 12th
Venus in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries
Moon in Pisces
Today is decidedly dreamy. Moon in Pisces sets a tone of creative inspirations and Venus trine Uranus sets us up for artistic, romantic, interpersonal insights that stir the soul and rally the intellect to new heights. Venus has had some major bummers lately with a square to Neptune and a conjunction to Saturn. This little ditty is a reward for the hard work.
Whatever house Sagittarius occupies in your chart (yes, I’m looking at you Sagittarius risings) is going through a massive change due to Saturn’s presence there. Saturn, at times may feel like we are burdened with the task of becoming but Venus in Sagittarius trine Uranus in Aries is an uplifting jolt of experimentation. It can show us how to ignite our inventive intelligence and do things in this domain of our lives in a way that brings about success with greater ease.
Wednesday 13 January 2016
Venus in Sagittarius square Chiron in Pisces (both at 16 degrees)
Sun in Capricorn trine Jupiter in Virgo (both at 23 degrees)
Moon still in Pisces traveling in-between Neptune and Chiron
Today brings themes of healing, dreaming, envisioning and working with the deep wells of psychic energy that can inspire connection, compassion and at times confusion, thanks to the moon, Venus and Chiron. Keep your boundaries intact and hold space for your own emotional responses and those of others without losing yourself.
The sun’s trine to Jupiter is the main show today. This aspect can burn away the cobwebs of self-doubt and inspire feelings self-assured confidence and can be a tremendously helpful moment of expansion, exuberance and optimism. Because both planets are in earth signs, this can translate into practical strategies for growth.
The sun’s trine to Jupiter sets up tomorrow’s astrology. It’s a bright light in the dark halls of Mercury retrograde’s review. It’s an important week. Any help that we get while in the thick of it can offer us insights untold. Use today to see the possibilities amidst the pain and the beauty inherent in the struggle.
Thursday, January 14th
Mercury makes its inferior conjunction to the sun (both at 23 degrees of Capricorn)
Mercury in Capricorn trine Jupiter in Virgo (both at 23 degrees)
Moon in Pisces makes a sextile to Mercury and the sun and an opposition to Jupiter before moving into Aries
Mercury gets all kinds of help today. Pop culture likes to focus on the negative aspects of Mercury retrograde, often missing the symbolic power of its cycles. While Mercury is retrograde it makes what is known as an inferior conjuction to the sun. We could also call this an interior conjunction as Mercury is between the sun and the earth at this phase of its cycle. Tucked in-between us and the solar source of light we all depend on, Mercury is able to whisper secrets to us and we are able to hear them. From the depths of the underworld we are privy to the tips and tricks its learned along its journey.
Seen as the heart of its underworld journey, Mercury’s inferior conjunction can bring us moments of clarity, moments of inspiration and even something akin to divine inspiration. This aspect is also called cazimi which means ‘in the heart of’. When Mercury enters the heart of the sun it is joined with the life-affirming elixir of the sun’s potency and strength. So too are our minds.
We can work in partnership with today’s astrology by moving into the heart of the moment instead of trying to escape what is in front of us. We can utilize today’s astrology by asking to be conduits for creative intelligence. We can be an agent for life-affirming interactions by cultivating communications that leave room for nuance, complexity and affirmation of one’s experience.
With a receptive trine to Jupiter in Virgo (a sign that Mercury rules) and a supportive sextile from the moon, today’s astrology is collaborating to bring us what we need to triumph over our trials. #NoTrifling
Saturday, January 16th
First Quarter Moon – Sun in Capricorn square Moon in Aries
Moon into Taurus
Today marks the half way point between the new moon and the sun. It’s a great day to check yourself to see if what you started at the new moon is still on your agenda and on the right track.
The moon loves to be in Taurus and wants to steady and make use of the energy and actions that we have initiated at the new moon.
Sunday, January 17th
Venus in Sagittarius square Jupiter in Virgo
Venus is now completing the mutable t-square between Jupiter, Saturn and Neptune. Both Venus and Jupiter want good, easy, enjoyable fun times. When they square each other, especially from the mutable signs that they now occupy, there can be cause for concern about overdoing overindulgence in as many ways as one could possibly come up with. With Jupiter in Virgo a lot of the indulgence is in regard to working hard; with Venus in Sagittarius the pleasure seeking can be spent sourcing out the knowledge and experience needed to be an adventurous explorer of love and relationships. In all honesty, this isn’t really cause for concern, but it may demand a choice between the joy of working and the pursuit of pleasure seeking. Make time for both.
*Horoscopes are meant to be read as inspiration. If you know your rising sign, please read it. Reading your rising sign gives you a specific idea of how the astrology is landing in your personal astrology chart. If you don’t know your rising sign, read your sun sign. If you know both your rising sign and sun sign, please read both. They both contain important information. Take what works for you, leave the rest. There is no right way to do this, it’s all just a friendly suggestion. If you find inspiration here we love and appreciate donations. If you want to share this work you must quote it and link it to this post and website. Thank you for your support and for spreading the work around, we really appreciate it and you!
You have in front of you what looks like the formidable task of seeing, understanding and making real your life’s work. However, in many ways, if you try less stress this week you’ll get a lot more done. Go for what is effortless. Go with what works. Go with what is standing in the wings, ready to assist you. So often our default setting tells us to work harder for a desired result. This week doesn’t want harder, but it does encourage you to work smarter.
I suggest that you assist this in becoming your reality by being as supportive of yourself as possible. Make your philosophy one that encourages your talents to be all that they can be. Make your main religious tenant to celebrate all of life. Make a mockery of any previous inner doctrine that had you paying penance for your natural self-expression.
Your major career move this week is to do all the things that you must do with as little self-consciousness and as much self-acceptance and trust in the process as you can muster. I think you’ll be pleasantly surprised at how little you have to push if you fully commit to showing up.
I’ve got the first monthly new moon installment of 2016, A Ritual For Renewal: New Moon in Capricorn, which explores the astrology of the lunar cycle from January 9th – February 7th. It will include a personalized reading for each sign on the impact of the cycle’s astrology, and a new moon renewal ritual for each sign and full moon meditation. Also, 2016: The Year Ahead For Your Sign is still available for purchase.
The hunger is real. The appetite has its own agenda. Satiation will only come when you have had your fill.
The heart wants what it wants.
And yet we can outsmart the pathways within it when we really work at it. We can circumvent the shortcuts and take the longer route. We can pause before leaping to conclusions, assumptions and needing to nail down an answer by cultivating more curiosity about the moment and our reaction to it. We can become more interested and invested in sourcing out solid hearts that can connect rather than trying to fix the ones that never worked with ours. We can take the time we need to learn about the ins and outs of potential partnerships before we give too much to take back. We can become better advocates for our amazingness.
Hearts can heal. They can want what wants them back.
This week brings the intellectual shift necessary to unload a million lifetimes of self-abandoning foolishness. This week has the ability to reverse the effects of too many lack-luster lovers. This week has the power to change your mind and turn it towards what is turning towards you too.

There is no faking an energetic connection. It is a kinetic collaboration. It is an involuntary response to being seen, to being known and to being remembered. There is no faking what is supportive, what is true and what is sacred.
A union of soulmates is unmistakeable. It is, for its lifetime, unshakeable. It is, even if only in hindsight, undeniable.
This week a certain someone may halt you with their sincerity. They may arrest you with their tribute to you. They may flood you with the memories of a life well lived that you have yet to.
Sometime we meet our futures and we know without a doubt that we are about to leave our pasts. Sometimes we know that we are being propelled into a moment that will change us through the connections that we have made with another. Sometimes the moment just reminds us that such an event is possible and comes without warning.
This week offers a solution, a moment of clarity and an opportunity to remember that you have no idea who will come into your life, what will occur between you and how they will end up influencing your direction in life. And that is every reason to rejoice.

There may be no greater realization than that of knowing that we are and have always been worthy of love. It may be up to us to chip away at the barricades that we have placed in the way of love. It may be up to us to investigate and rewrite the stories that we have made up to keep love, intimacy and connection out of our lives. It may be up to us to resolve to find a way to learn how to love and be loved in return. It may be that this kind of work is difficult, daunting and solitary, but this week you get help holding that parts of your heart that have had a hard time.
Let love in.
Whatever love is in front of you. Whatever connections that are coming towards you. Whatever inspires a beautiful melody to move through you, move towards it too. Or at the very least, refrain from defending yourself against it. Go with what feels abundant. Go with what feels supportive. Go with what feels loving.
Let love rule.
This state of being will help all aspects of your lives. This realization will help you make the most of the creative energy that you are working with. This affirmation will help your career projects find their way into the hands of those that can help you most. This framework can help you to get to the heart of what holds you back from feeling connected, supported and in the flow of trusting life. This week can help you lay to rest the worry that you feel about not measuring up or being worthy of what you want most in partnerships.

Widening your peripheral vision when looking at your most pressing work projects will help you find the solutions that are sitting pretty and awaiting your recognition. What we can’t see can’t help us and right now there is every reason to believe that assistance (possibly financial) is just a perspective shift away. There is a power source that you can tap into this week that can help you find your footing so that you can have a greater perspective for down the road dealings.
Basically you can make more of your talents by giving yourself a little room to see them in perspective. You’ve got gold in your veins. It’s time you recognized it.
You’ve also got what looks to be a lot of creative energy pumping through you. For some of you this will manifest as an ignition of the heart from an insightful siren. For others it will be the outline of your next book. For others this will be a breakthrough with children or your relationship to the ones in your life and possibly the ones you want in your life. Whatever the form it takes, take the opportunity the week presents you with to further your commitments to the things in your life that make your heart glitter and go pitter patter.

This week your ruling planet gets an infusion of light during its darkest hour. So too may you be helped by a source of creative inspiration, a lover or a heart-opening experience. So much of your astrology as of late is about opening to new aspects of yourself, having an ever-increasing appetite for life and feeling like you can expand in multiple directions. This week has the capacity to address the question of what you’ll do with all that is being opened up to you. There may be a moment of clarity, inspiration or validation needed for you to further your creations. There could be an experience that reminds you how important it is for you to have fun, let go and give way to what is, at least momentarily, easier. There may be a reminder of how important it is to have fun and feel free.
This week also brings a certain revelation around home, family and the insight that can illuminate our path when we feel like we have enough time for our inner life. Given the potential tension/adjustment/commitment that you may have recently made in this area of life, I suggest using a part of this week to reinvent, in some small or large way, your inner/living space. This could be anything from cleaning and refreshing your altar to liberating yourself from a family philosophy that feels outdated.

This week brings solutions to a family drama, a situation you’ve been dealing with at home or a foundational conundrum that your have been trying to solve. It’s not like everything gets wrapped up in a neat little bow in the next 7 days but there may be something that you recover, something that you uncover or something that is remembered to you that will help to make meaning out of information that has been demanding to be dealt with.
There may be some aspect of yourself that you are reclaiming. Something that got buried in the past. Something that the structures of the culture you live in deem uncouth. Something that you want a divorce from. Something that you now realize is of great importance. Something that made others uncomfortable due to its brilliance and their envy of it and of you for possessing it.
Reclaim the talents, gifts and inheritances you thought you had to disown. Reclaim what can support you. Reclaim what can uplift you. Reclaim what is a natural strength in you. Reclaim your space in the world and you’ll be recognized immediately. Give your ideas life this week by sharing them. Let yourself experience both sides of your scale by talking to folks you might not usually give too much time to. You are more than likely to pick up a few good nuggets of wisdom from the unlikeliest of sources.

This week gives you a rockstar set up. With Mars, your ruling planet, still fully powered and in your sign, you’ve got energy to spare, confidence to lend out and a determination that cannot be beat.
With Venus in your second house of money and self-worth receiving a trine to Uranus, you’ve got creative inspirations and the courage (thank you Mars) to break out of old paradigms that can keep you stuck both financially and in terms of appreciating your talents. Innovate with the resources you have on hand. See your worth as related to those that you have connections to. Show up for the partnerships that may be undergoing a shift in agreements.
With Mercury entering the heart of the sun and both planets sending/receiving a trine to Jupiter in your third house of communication, there are lovely, heartfelt and hopeful messages of confirmation on their way to you. Receive them. Take them in. Into the deepest caverns of your heart valves. Into all the folds of your cortex. Into your cells and your membranes. Let yourself be remade by sentiments that support you, no matter where you are or what you are dealing with. There is support for you. Don’t leave it hanging.

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising
There’s a lot of road to travel this week. There’s a lot to be learned from these next few days. There is a lot that is coming together that can make both the traveling and the learning much easier and more effortless than it has been lately.
Enjoy the ride.
With Venus in your sign you’ve got a little extra charm at your disposal, but this week you’ve got an extra-added bonus via a trine between Venus and Uranus. This can help you score points with lovers, new, old and unexpected. This can help you blow off a little steam and have some spur of the moment and totally unplanned fun. This can help you gain major insights into the creative project that you have been banging your head against the wall over.
Sometimes all of a sudden everything flows for no reason. This week is that season.
The other component of your week is that there could be a great gift that you are given through your work and your strategies for bringing in the big bucks. Whatever problem you have been facing or trying to solve in this area of your life is given a major problem-solving boost. Do be open to support. Do be willing to try out the simplest strategy. Do be willing to praise the elegant and effortless workings of the week. It’s not that every problem is solved but moments of clarity can carry us through miles of fog.

These kinds of weeks aren’t always on the schedule. These kinds of weeks hold a lifetime’s worth of potential resolutions, solutions and salves. These kinds of weeks work wonders for letting things work themselves out.
It’s not that no effort is required but the theme this week is to let our affirmations get a chance to advance and to let what is effortlessly intelligent lead the way. Keep your eyes out for what gives you a sense of ease. Feel around for what helps your bristle soften. Save space for the ideas that will save you from years of suffering and self-sabotage. This week a psychic knot or two could come undone. This week can reveal a reaffirmed vision of your potential. All of this and then some is part of the astrological pattern being woven into your week, but it will be up to you to do something with its potential.
Think of this week as a break in the clouds, a moment of reason, a pocket of smooth sailing, a pit-stop to help make sense of the kerfuffle that Mercury retrograde has and will kick up while traveling through your sign. This week is akin to the part of the tale where the heroine visits the magical elder/wise person/witch/wizard/unicorn and receives a bowl of soup, takes a long nap and is given an amulet, message or magical object that they need in order to complete their journey. Receive the good that is given to you. It will sustain you through the next leg of your journey.

If you could peel your personality off like a suit to see what freedom could be, this would be the week to try out such a test of faith. Being less associated with your name, being less committed to your fame and being less attached to your fortune would benefit you greatly.
Viewing any problems or concerns through alternative eyes can help you too, namely eyes that view the larger picture. Being overly concerned with how things appear in the outer world right now has some importance, but it’s not the entire emphasis in your chart. There’s something that you are incubating, something that you may be working on behind the scenes, something that needs a little time to grow that will get an important infusion this week. So while you still have a tremendous amount of energy available to you in both your social and professional realms, there’s something perhaps a little more interesting developing on the inside or developing outside of the constraints of the boxes your life is contained within.
Good friends, interesting colleagues and the social butterflies that flutter through your field this week will most likely have insights that you’ll want to incorporate. In fact, getting yourself to the party can be an important part of your inner life unfolding.

With the waxing moon in your sign from Tuesday to Thursday you are in some pretty serious flow. Build intuitively upon your strengths. Do things in a way that makes sense for you. Give yourself time to be on your own schedule when you can. There is much creative intelligence awaiting you in the corridors between classes.
There are also some really important connections to be made as you meander through this week. Important conversations with your peoples. Important insights from being in community. Important friendships step up their game.
This week looks like it is able to reveal the true nature of a former miscommunication. This week looks like it is capable of uncovering the true nature of your most intimate connections. This week looks like it can reveal the gifts that doing your own healing work around intimacy issues can bring. Notice who around you wants to support you. Notice who around you potentiates your talents and you theirs. Notice who around you lends you a lift and notice if you do the same for them.
You also have the potential to make a more than influential impression on someone important to your work and career. Show up for events, show up for projects, and show up for those creations and collaborations that you need to and focus on how they are connecting you to others and/or how being connected to others is helping your efforts get off the ground.
