The week begins with a new moon in Aries. Aries loves to begin things. Lives to launch itself into action. With great courage and no consideration for consequences.

Each new moon initiates us into a new cycle. Reminds us that it is natural to be in a process of renewal. Reminds us that it is necessary to reset.

This new moon also initiates us into a new season. We have turned a corner. Light has shifted. The heartbeat of the planet has changed tempo. If we are interested in aligning with nature, then we need to, too. This is how magic is made.

This week the second of three squares between Jupiter and Pluto occurs. Jupiter in Libra is currently retrograde. Retracing its steps. Going back over the ideas and relationships that is has tried to expand upon. This second square between Jupiter and Pluto is the mid-way point to resolution with the final square occurring in August. The square from Pluto can trigger Jupiter’s ever increasing appetites but at the same time makes it clear what needs to be deepened in order to expand. Pluto checks the balance that Jupiter is trying to grow into. It also checks extremist attitudes, belief systems in general and the need for conversations and relationships built on equality. Equality by means of deconstructing the systems that keep some of us up and way more of us down. Not the performance of wanting equality by only wishing it so or trying to be a “good person”.

While the slower gods battle, the quicker ones change sign. Venus retrogrades backwards into Pisces while Mercury progresses forwards into Taurus, where it will station retrograde on April 10th. Both of these planets are moving through echo-chambers. Whether retracing movements they have just made or venturing into ground that they will shortly return to, these are déjà vu days.

Venus does much better in Pisces than in it does in Aries. Here, Venus is lauded for her ability to connect to all the suffering she comes in contact with. Fluid, flexible, vulnerable, available and compassionate, it could be argued that Venus in Pisces attracts too much attention. Is flooded with it. Has a hard time knowing what to do with it. Has to learn how to say no to those that are just feeding off of it and not in reciprocity with it. It is in these waters of Pisces where Venus will station direct on April 15th. Venus has much to teach us in the coming days about healing our relationship wounds and repairing the parts of our hearts that have been torn due to overextension towards those that can’t meet us half way.

Aries & Aries Rising

I am reborn by the love I receive. I am reborn by the love that I allow in. I am reborn each time my heart, in all its honesty, is witnessed.

I wait for no one to do this. I bear witness to it.

I use Monday’s new moon to initiate myself into a new level of self-care. To initiate myself into a new level of self-respect. To initiate myself into a new way to care for and encourage the longings of my heart.

I witness the ways I withhold love from myself. Ways that I thought I had parted ways with. Ways that I outsmart myself. Ways that I can now watch out for.

I do not stay in places that encourage my fragility. I do not remain complacent with love that does not challenge my ignorance. I do not seek to pacify myself with love that doesn’t see my potential and push me towards it.

Because that isn’t love.

That is niceness. And niceness is a dangerous thing to seek. Or sleep with. Niceness will not protect what is vulnerable, but it will protect what is predatory.

So I move towards the people, places and things that challenge me because they respect me.

I move towards becoming my own greatest challenger. Lovingly. Compassionately. Respectfully. I challenge myself because I respect myself. I challenge my heart to grow beyond its fear because I respect its capacity. I challenge my life to move into discomfort in the service of greater growth because I respect the gift that it is.

Taurus & Taurus Rising

Monday’s new moon is a rebirth. From deep within. A private and precious awakening. A moment to help me remember what is truly important in life. A moment that helps me to refocus my awareness on what needs to go so that more important things can grow. A moment that lends me the courage that I need to allow these endings to proceed.

I don’t hang onto what has gone. I do not grasp for ghosts. I no longer allow myself to get transfixed by hauntings of failure long past.

I take this new moon as my invitation to clean out the storage units that my consciousness has kept things in. Things I didn’t want to witness. Things I didn’t know how to understand. Things I had forgotten I’d left for later.

Now is the time to spring clean the ideas that leave my mind lackluster. Now is the time to burn away the debris that has become a hazardous obstacle. Now is the time to consciously curate space so that I have room for what’s next. Conscious of my relationship to loss. Conscious of the love that I need to fill myself with so that I feel open and ready, not hollow or empty.

Gemini & Gemini Rising

I align myself with those that encourage my growth. I create space for connections with those that challenge my assumptions and provide me with insights I had yet to understand. I make room for the relationships that encourage me to stretch past my comfort zones and test my ability to witness my shortcomings.

I am not content with surrounding myself with those that are concerned with their own interests only. It is uninteresting. I aim to connect myself to a wide web of dream-weavers that know how to extend themselves past selfish interests. I aim to build community that continues to refine its work with complex and compassionate systems of resistance.

I use this new moon to rededicate myself to the movements that move me to act with others in mind. To wonder how my actions are impacting our collective future. To ponder how I might align myself with those who have healing in mind. To consider how my career might benefit from a more careful application of my skill set. So that less suffering might be suffered. So that less harm might be done. So that my work in the world can become a solid support system for a greater network of care.

Cancer & Cancer Rising

I call up the courage to create the work that I most wish to see in the world. I call up the care it takes to cultivate the work I most wish to see in the world. I call upon the forces that be to help this work find its way in the world.

May this work help to cultivate more care for our world. May this work help to encourage a more careful defiance in the face of what stands in the way of such care. May this work help us all to feel cared for and therefore care more about each other.

May this work be in support of every courageous heart that rises up to hate. May this work be bold in its declarations of love. Unafraid to ruffle the feathers of birds that peck away at justice. Unapologetic of its intent. Unwilling to be placated by merely being likable.

Leo & Leo Rising

I use Monday’s new moon to set goals. Goals wide enough to take into consideration the changes that will occur along the way. Goals deep enough to draw me to them. Goals inspiring enough to help me over the hurdles that I will surely meet.

I love what I labour over. I find new ways to show my work that I care. I come to a greater understanding of all that I can provide to my professional endeavors.

I show my commitment to my own growth by tending to the details of things. If I am going to do a job, no matter what it is, I will do it to the best of my ability. I co-create professional environments that are in support of personal healing. I ally myself with coworkers, conspirators and creative consorts that are down to help make this happen. I see my working relationships as resources to give energy to and receive support from.

My creativity heals me. My creativity teaches me about the transformative process of creation. My creativity teaches me that each and every pain has a purpose in my development. My primary relationships are treasure troves. They are well-springs of information. They are non-stop channels of intelligence for me to tap into.

Those that birthed me, fed me and first held me are the templates for all my relationships. I keep hold of the heartening aspects of my kin. I use Monday’s new moon to make peace with what couldn’t hold me and to make a decisive decision to figure out how to hold myself. I ask for courage to part from all that erodes my infrastructure and the ingenuity needed to redesign it so that it might hold all that I hope to invite in.

I am building my life by layering the best of what I can salvage for its base. Layer by layer, I build my best. Layer by layer, I live up to all I can.

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising

Monday’s new moon wants me to reset my schedules. Clear out the clutter in my calendar. Align myself with all that helps me live my days in ways that awaken my courage so that I might manifest the beauty I most need to experience in the world.

In order to do so I might need to make a bold move. I might need to venture into spaces that challenge me to grow into my next phase. Spaces that might make me uncomfortable in good ways. Growth edges that give me room to learn. Lessons that hold me to the fires that burn away my ignorance.

May Monday’s new moon help me to remember to channel the courage of the earth’s creatures if I need inspiration. May I remember to hunt for nourishment, soar towards a greater perspective and track the impulses that guide me towards fulfillment.

Pisces & Pisces Rising

I am in relationship with my resources. I am in partnership with every asset I possess. I am connected to what sustains my life in little and large ways.

I use Monday’s new moon to rededicate myself to courageously putting forward my best. I use Monday’s new moon to develop the strength I need to go head to head with what tends to intimidate me.
